Why syncing matters
- Technicians keep working offline while office staff still see progress right after reconnection.
- Invoices, photos, and signatures stay consistent across mobile, web, and customer portal.
- If a device is lost, nothing is stuck locally—Toolfy already pushed updates to the cloud.
Automatic sync flow
- Toolfy detects Wi-Fi or mobile data returning.
- Local changes (status updates, notes, photos, signatures) are uploaded in priority order.
- At the same time, new jobs, schedule changes, or messages from the office are downloaded.
- A success toast confirms sync; any conflicts appear with a prompt so you can choose the correct version.
Refresh manually when needed
- Pull to refresh the job list.
- Tap the sync icon in the top bar to force a refresh of jobs and messages.
- Open Settings → Sync now to run a full device check if something seems out of date.
Conflict handling
- Toolfy highlights conflicts (for example, the office edited a job while you were offline). Review and pick which version to keep.
- Notes on the same job merge automatically unless two people edit the exact same field—then you will see both entries to choose from.
- Photos and signatures never overwrite each other. Duplicates can be removed later from the job timeline.
Troubleshooting
Sync spinner never finishes
Check the status banner at the top. If it shows queued items, keep the app open or move to stronger signal. If stuck, tap `Sync now` in settings to retry.
Device shows outdated jobs
Force close and reopen the app to trigger a clean refresh. If the issue persists, sign out and back in—the local cache will rebuild from the server.
Photos missing after reconnect
Open the Photos tab of the job; items still uploading show a spinner. Stay on the screen until complete or re-upload if the file shows a failed badge.
